ABOUT US

Who we Are

We are a denominational movement of 11 churches in Singapore who value evangelical unity in the gospel, fellowship and collaboration. EFC Singapore is a member of the National Council of Churches of Singapore and EFC All Asia, together with China (Hong Kong), Japan, Malaysia, and Philippines.

MEANING in our name

Evangelical means that we believe that the Scripture is the inerrant word of God, people are born into a sinful condition, and salvation comes through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are strongly committed to share the good news of Jesus.

Free historically means being separate from state control. Today, each church is governed by its own members not by a centralized body. Our churches typically have a senior pastor and a board of elders who receive their authority by vote of the congregation.

Statement of Faith

We Believe

  1. The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life.

  2. In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  3. That Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.

Distinctives

of unity in diverity

EFCS churches may debate issues and hold varying views. Our distinctives seek unity in diversity, choosing not to divide over issues that our Statement of Faith is silent upon.
